Grade 3/4 News

Loving learning every day with Mrs Jacobs , Miss Mawby and Mrs Morse!

Literacy

We have been looing at how to write a newspaper articles and how we use direct and direct speech to enhance our writing.  We have been investigating breaking news stories, including King Charles speech being interrupted by Lidia Thorpe, and the Crumbl cookie scandal. We have been working hard on writing direct quotes and writing interesting leads that include who, what, when, where, why, and how.

Maths

We have been using number lines to explore the inverse connection between addition  and subtraction, and finding out how to  determine an unknown number in an equation. We are having lots of fun learning how to use the number lines, and we are so  proud of the progress everyone is making.

Integrated Studies

We are well underway planning for our stop motion animations. We have settled on  our characters and stories, have developed a storyboard, and are currently designing sets and props. We hope to start filming next week. A note went home last week regarding toys that can be brought in to use as characters, it would be helpful if they could be brought in next Tuesday.

Camp

Thank you to families for returning their camp forms. We are looking forwards to heading off to Cave Hill Creek in two weeks times. A note will be sent home soon containing a packing list.

Life Ed Visit

We got the chance to see Healthy Harold again, and learnt about how to navigate tricky friendship situations.
