Religious Education
This week, students have been learning about All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day, two special days in the Catholic calendar. All Saints' Day, which is on November 1st, celebrates all the saints, both known and unknown, who have reached heaven. It encourages us to follow their good examples. The next day, All Souls' Day, is a time to remember and pray for those who have passed away. Through lessons, discussions, and fun activities, our students have gained a better understanding of these important traditions and how they connect us to our past and to each other.
A Prayer for Grandparents
Loving God,
Bless all grandparents and special people in the lives of the children at St Mary’s.
Those gathered with us here today, those who cannot be with us and those who have gone to be with you.
May they heed your call to share their wisdom and faith with us.
May they have courage and confidence to hand on your gifts of experience and knowledge, of stories, songs and memories.
May they continue to learn and grow with us day by day. Bless them with length of days and joy at the last.
We make this prayer through Christ our Lord.
Amen
Term 4 Focus
Mary, the Mother of Jesus
This week the Foundation students had a wonderful time creating little "Mary" figures. They discovered why Mary is often seen wearing blue—a colour symbolizing purity and devotion.
The Year 2 students explored beautiful images of Mary holding baby Jesus, sparking reflections on their own experiences with their mothers nurturing them. Through these activities, students connected with Mary's story in a personal way, deepening their understanding of her role in our Catholic faith.
