Year 1 Cockatoos and Kangaroos

In the lively Year One classrooms, the kids were buzzing with excitement over the Grinch’s letter. He was trying to convince them to cancel Christmas, but instead, both classes decided to come up with a list of reasons why it shouldn't be cancelled. They shouted out ideas, from the joy of giving gifts to the fun of decorating and spending time with family.

They can't wait to learn how to write a persuasive text this term to convince the Grinch not to cancel Christmas!

We finished off our fun filled afternoon by drawing a picture of the Grinch to attach to our persuasive letter!

Year 6 Broglas and Emus

“How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” (A.A. Milne)

Saying goodbye in six weeks will definitely be hard for all of the Year 6s. It has been an incredible journey for all of us, from making life lasting friendship to growing in wisdom and responsibility. However, before we farewell our primary school years we need to reflect on what we have achieved and how far we have come. Our hard work is evident in our current achievement. This term alone we have participated in swimming lessons where a lot of us have advanced into a higher level.

Additionally, we have enjoyed a myriad of Berry Street model activities and routines, like morning and afternoon circles, and brain breaks which ensure our well-being and readiness to learn. We have continued to learn new mathematical concepts through hands-on activities and engaging warm-ups.

In Religious Education we have been exploring the importance of prayer and have created posters and digital presentations on the Beatitudes, which are statement of characteristics and blessing of a faithful Christians.

There are only five weeks ahead of us, and it sure will be hard to move on and leave what has been familiar to many us for the last eight years of our lives. Yet, we are excited and ready for the challenges of the high school years!!!
