Year 1/2
It has been a wonderful first 3 weeks of Term 4! We have hit the ground running, with the addition of some beautiful weather, our 1/2s have settled right back into routine with smiles on their faces!
English
To start Term 4, we have been focusing on Fables & Fairytales. We began our unit with a focus on 'Anthropomorphism' (where an author gives human characteristics to non-human things), our students enjoyed identifying this within the texts we read and they even had a go at including it in their own writing.
We have also been learning to identify the common characteristics of Fables & Fairytales as well as the moral or lesson behind each story. We have just begun writing our very own fairytales and are excited to share these with you all once they are published!
Maths
In Maths, we have continued to practise skip counting from random starting points, forwards and backwards! The kids have enjoyed challenging themselves with their skip counting and we have seen wonderful growth.
In the first few weeks we have had a focus on Fractions and Shape. Through a range of hands on activities, students have explored the concepts of halves, quarters and eighths and have been learning to identify 2D and 3D shapes and their attributes.
Humanities

Congratulations to all of our Prep - Grade 2 students who participated in Tuesday's Athletics. Although it was hot, it was amazing to see so many getting involved and trying their very best. Thank you to all of the parents who could make it to cheer us on, we were stoked with the turn out and we hope you had a great afternoon in the sun.
