Saturday November 16, 2024 is the Golden Anniversary Party Day, when Blue Mountains Library turns 50!
The first branch was opened in Springwood in 1974 in Braemar House, in front of the current Springwood Library. This event is free and everyone is invited to help BMCC Library celebrate their 50th Anniversary!
Please see the below link for full details of celebrations at every branch on the day, including:
- a “Library of the Future” competition for local children and teens starting Wednesday 23rd October. Local kids and teens are invited to use their imagination and create a vision for what libraries will be in the future. 3 age levels with prizes for winners, terms and conditions apply.
- Facebook page - 50 Photos in 50 Days.
- Activities on the day include a treasure hunt, arts & crafts, food, giveaways, party hats.

Penrith City Libraries - Write Out West - November 27 - December 6
Penrith City Libraries has launched the first Write Out West : Western Sydney Libraries and Literature Festival in partnership with Camden Council Library Service, Fairfield City Open Libraries and Hawkesbury Library Service. There are 3 age levels, Kids, Youth and Adults. Over 30 author events, panel discussions, and workshops for all ages will take place at various sites in Western Sydney, presented by professional authors, writing teachers, poets and illustrators.
