This week in Reading, Grade 2s are analysing the use of nouns, verbs and adverbs in narratives.

VOCABULARY

Analysing is when you look closely at something to understand it better and figure out how it works or why it’s important.

Nouns are words that name people, places, things, or ideas.

Verbs are action words that tell what someone or something is doing.

Adverbs are words that describe how, when, or where something happens.

Using a narrative text from your child's blue satchel or a book from your home library identify nouns, verbs, and adverbs in the text. Record these in the homework book.
