SPOTLIGHT
YEAR 3
This term Year 3 have been learning about some more famous artists. We have been looking at the artworks of Andy Warhol. Andy Warhol was an American artist and filmmaker who created the Pop Art movement in the 1960s. Pop art is all about making art inspired by things from popular culture. He used pictures of famous people like Marilyn Monroe and used bright, bold colours to make his art stand out. One of his most famous artworks was used on a Campbell’s Soup tin because he ate that for lunch every day for 20 years. We got to choose what we wanted as our ‘popular culture’ item and used our own bright bold colours to recreate the style of Andy Warhol.
