I'm excited to not only be teaching Year 3-4 Kitchen Garden this semester but also P-2 Food Tech.  One of my passions is growing my own food and cooking delicious healthy meals with fresh seasonal produce, so I'm over the moon to share my passion and knowledge with the Junior Students at Skye Primary School.

In a nutshell Food Tech will be focusing on how food can be selected and prepared for healthy eating and the students will explore how plants and animals are grown for food, clothing and shelter.

The students will participate in garden sessions and conduct taste-testing sessions with the produce grown in the garden.

If anyone has any kiddikutter or minichef knives that they no longer need (often these were fundraisers for kindergartens) I would love them to utilise during our Food Tech sessions.  Could you please send them to the office?

Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

I would like to thank the wonderful volunteers and their families who put their hand up to water and care for our chickens over the holidays.  The garden looked healthy and lush when I returned to school!

Kitchen Garden

The kitchen and garden has buzzed with excitement with the Year 3 and 4 students participating in their first Kitchen Garden session. Year 5 and 6 students will participate in Semester Two.

The students made delicious tzatziki dip, baked pita bread and vegetable sticks using bell peppers, cucumbers, mint and zucchini from the garden.  You can find the recipes below.
