IMPORTANT
We are excited to be continuing with the Little Learners Love Literacy Program in Grade 1. You can help support your child with their reading at home with our online platform. We will be sending home a letter with details on how to use this. Each student will have an individual code that allows them to access readers at home. If you do not have a devise at home, we are happy to send home books for your child.
THE NEXT FORTNIGHT OF LEARNING.
LITERACY- Our Mentor text is Possum Magic. We are learning about Australia and the Animals that are native to our Country. Students are learning to respond to a text by sharing any existing knowledge they may already know and answering questions about the text.
Through our Little learners Love Literacy program students have been doing revision on phonemes and graphemes that they have already had practice in Prep. We will be learning 'ai' 'ay'.
We are also exposing students to poems and discussing the features of nursery rhymes.
NUMERACY- In Maths students have been learning how a maths lesson looks in Grade 1. They understand what is expected and showed excellent listening and participation skills when being paired up with their partners.
INQUIRY- Students are learning about new words that are related to cultural celebrations.
WELLBEING- As a class we have been having discussions about classroom expectations. Students are understanding what is expected inside and outside the classroom.
Students have enjoyed getting back into their specialist's classes with some enjoying Food Tech as a new one this year. Make sure you ask your children all about their school day so they can share the exciting things they have done each day.
We are looking forward to seeing and meeting you at the Meet the Teacher afternoon. Please bring in some photos, pictures, stickers, to help your child decorate a cover of one of their school books.
