Students in Year 5 have been hard at work investigating 3 dimensional nets and their properties, as well as calculating volume and surface area. They have designed and created their own creature with various adaptations, and had to build a container to ship these creatures to different environments around the world. Students had to design a net and build a container to fit their creature in, with some using technology to create a net with dimensions for their creature’s real-life size. They have thoroughly enjoyed using their knowledge of 3D shapes in a creative way.
