One week to go! We'd like to wish all families a safe and restful holiday. To our Grade 6s, we will be sad to see you go and we wish you all the very best for high school. We look forward to your visits next year.
To our Grade 5's, well done on a fantastic year and a special congratulations to our new captains! We look forward to seeing them and all of next year's Year 6's, become our new leaders of Vermont Primary School in 2025!
The Grade 6's had a fantastic day on Monday. Although the total ride was over 20 kilometres, the students came in with a positive attitude and pushed themselves to make it. The conditions were favourable and gave students the energy to get up the hills at the end of the ride. Thanks to Mr Walsh for all his organising and to all the parent helpers (and older siblings!) who rode, delivered and cooked.
What an amazing time the Grade 6's had at FunFields on Wednesday! The students' faces were filled with excitement as they went off with friends to swing, swim, hang upside down, ride toboggans, fly down slides and most importantly, scream! Our students were fantastic with their behaviour and attitude, which made it a fun day for all. We would have photos to share, but the teachers were too busy riding water slides...
As it is going to be extremely hot on Monday, please carefully consider your child’s clothing. We are happy for boys to wear neat dress shorts instead of long pants. Students should arrive between 5pm and 5:30pm to allow them time to take photos with their peers. Parents can arrive any time from 6:30pm onwards. Just a reminder that it is 4 guests per family and all small children MUST remain seated with their parents at all times if they are attending out of respect to all the graduates and their families. Supper will be served at 9pm for parents and family members attending, with students returning to the stadium at 9:45pm.
Next Wednesday is Class Party day throughout the school. All classes may have slightly different arrangements but you should have received communication about that from your teacher. This will be the day that the Kris Kringle presents will be handed out.
A reminder that school will finish next Friday at 12:30pm.
The Year 5's had the perfect weather for their outing into the city and the IMAX theatre. It was a perfect conclusion to our unit on animals and their adaptations. Afterwards we had a relaxing lunch in the gardens and played some impromptu cricket! Thank you to the helpers who came along to make our day extra special, and a shout out to all the students for their exemplary manners and behaviour on the day!
