Year 2

Hello from 2J

What an absolutely amazing year we've had in 2J! To top it all off, we wrapped up the year with an unforgettable excursion to Myuna Farm! This incredible adventure perfectly tied into our science topic on Living Things and gave us the chance to explore and learn in the most hands-on and fun way possible.

Our day started with a fabulous Farm Show, where we discovered fascinating facts about farm birds. Can you believe we even got to pat a rooster or hen? But that’s not all – we also learned about milking and had the chance to milk a goat ourselves!

Next, we stepped into the animal nursery, where we met, fed, and cuddled an adorable assortment of animals. From soft rabbits and guinea pigs to curious lizards and tiny turtles, there was so much to love! The excitement didn’t stop there – we wandered the farm trail, feeding friendly alpacas, sheep, deer, and even camels!

Then came a brilliant session on waste and sustainability. We rolled up our sleeves for an interactive activity, sorting rubbish into the right bins and learning to identify what is waste, recyclable, or compostable.

To finish off, we explored the vibrant vegetable garden. We spotted all sorts of fruits and veggies, planted our own seeds, and brought home a little plant to grow – a wonderful way to keep the farm experience alive!

This excursion was hands-down the highlight of our term! The smiles, laughter, and excitement made it a day to remember forever. What a way to finish an incredible year! 🌟
