Snapshot of Learning - Prep

A Snapshot of Learning by Prep

We welcome all of our new Prep students to our St Simon’s community, we are truly excited that you are here. St Simon’s is a great place for your child to start their learning journey.

It has been an exciting start to the year with Prep students and teachers getting to know each other through our well thought out lessons. Our classrooms are safe and engaging learning environments where children are valued and encouraged to take risks and have a go. Our highly qualified, caring and dedicated teachers are well equipped to create appropriate learning environments.

This year our Prep teachers are Sharon Sanna and Nicole O’Suilvan.

Over the next few weeks, the Prep students will continue to learn about and complete tasks that focus on making connections with other students in their classroom and with their Grade 6 Buddies!  A buddy system is in place to assist the new Prep students to settle into the school routine in a caring and supportive way.

The Prep children will be introduced to their Year 6 buddies very soon. The buddies are available during the first few weeks of Term 1 to assist the Preps with finding friends to play with and generally providing support. They continue this friendship throughout the year and participate in a number of designated ‘buddy’ activities. It has been fantastic to see the children settling into classroom routines and enjoying all aspects of school life thus far!
