Celebrating Learning

This time of year, is so rewarding as a teacher. Yes, everyone is just that little bit tired but reflecting on student learning and seeing just how much they’ve grown since the beginning of the year, is a beautiful thing. 

Literacy

We continue to explore different text types with students writing letters to grandparents, cousins, friends, parents, and Santa. Letters to David requesting swimming pools and class pets were also very popular.

Numeracy

We are revising doubles and near doubles, place value, and strategies for adding.  

Outdoor Play-Based Learning (PBL)

A volcano and a pond have been designed and constructed over consecutive days… when problems arise, students brainstorm and modify their projects through trial and reflection.
