Learning Reflection
Weeks 10 & 11, Term 4
Dear Grade 1 and 2 Families,
Wow, what a year it’s been! As we wrap up this school year, we want to take a moment to thank you all for your incredible support. Whether it was cheering on the kids at the Festive Concert or being there to support us each day.
This year was full of so many fun, memorable moments. From the energy of the Colour Run and Sports Day to the spirit of Harmony Day, each event brought us closer together as a community. The students also took on some great challenges with STEM Day, where they explored new ideas and built their problem-solving skills, and our celebrations at the Spanish Fiesta, where we embraced creativity and a different culture. It’s been a year of learning, growth, and friendship.
As we move into the holidays, we hope you and your children carry with you the memories we’ve created—of laughter, teamwork, and all the wonderful moments we’ve shared. We are so proud of everything our students have achieved and the friendships they’ve built along the way.
Wishing you all a relaxing and joyful break! Thank you again for being such an important part of our year.
Best wishes,
Grade 1 & 2 Teachers
Miss Sophie, Mrs Krajacic, Mrs Langer, Miss Sonia, Miss Dierickx & Mrs Vella
Students have been playing some games that their parents and grandparents may have played- Jacks/Knuckle Bones, Hopscotch, Tic Tac Toe and SOS.
Students have been making toys from the past. We had a try at making Jumping Jacks!
Part of our author study on Pamela Allen was to notice the craft in her books. We looked through with a partner and used sticky notes to mark the pages where we noticed craft.
What an amazing and hot night we had celebrating our end of year concert!
We love using whiteboards to practise our Word study. We have looked at the /e/sound and the different spellings that make this sound.
Inspired by 'Are We There Yet?' by Alison Lester, we designed caravans that we could use to go on our own adventures.
Students have been reinforcing their Place Value skills through a variety of maths games.
We have continued to love our word study and writing sessions throughout the term.
Students enjoyed presenting the information about their families when they were young.
2A's classroom turned into a museum of toys and technology! The Grade 1's and 2's enjoyed learning about the history of different objects.
