Year 1 Bulletin

Wellbeing
Learning Intention: To understand and help manage our emotions. Learning Experience Overview: On Wednesday morning, our Grade 1s participated in the Why Worry Wally incursion. The author of the book Why Worry Wally read us his book, and then explained what worries are and helpful strategies to manage them. |
Whole:
All the Grade 1s gathered together in the MPC to listen to the story Why Worry Wally being read aloud by the author, Rick Foster. The book explored feelings of nervousness and anxiety.
Small: The students participated in a range of large and small group activities, which activated their thinking about what their own worries might be, and how this feels in their body. The session also explored strategies of managing and alleviating worries. |
Share and reflect: The students completed two independent activities. In the first activity, they drew or wrote about some worries that they experienced. In the second activity, they drew or wrote things they do that make them happy. |
