Teaching and Learning

What a wonderful start it has been to 2025, Term One.
Welcome to the first edition of our school newsletter for the year! As we embark on this exciting journey of learning together, one of our key priorities is ensuring that our students feel ready to engage with their learning in a positive and supportive environment.
Research has shown that establishing strong routines is a crucial step in helping students settle into their learning, feel confident, and succeed. Our teachers spent a lot of time in school, during the holidays, to ensure our rooms were welcoming and ready to embrace our students' return.
In line with the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model 2.0. which is a model that all schools in Victoria are using to guide the implementation of teaching strategies that support our students to learn in the most effective way, we are focusing on setting clear, consistent routines in the classroom. These include the way we come into class each day, where we sit, and how we organise and present our work. These classroom routines play a key role in creating a structured and predictable environment. When students know what to expect, they can focus more on their learning and less on uncertainty.
Routines aren't just about structure—they also help to build strong relationships. By establishing a calm, respectful environment and fostering a sense of belonging, we are helping our students feel valued and ready to learn. Relationships are the foundation upon which great learning happens, and we are committed to nurturing these connections every day.
We look forward to seeing our students thrive as we continue to build on these routines this year enabling us to create a school where every learner can succeed!
