The Holidays are Upon Us

Wow! What a term it has been. We have had many fabulous wellbeing events at EEPS this term including National Day of Action Against Bullying and tomorrow’s R U OK Day. The end of term is once again upon us, and the holidays are here. Whether you’re a Mum, Dad, Grandparent or Carer we strive to create a stress-free happy environment however, between work, life, home and parenting… the juggle is real.

Becoming a parent is huge, the balance of parenting and keeping all our balls in the air is tough and as parents we often feel we are missing something and doing many things to less than a satisfactory standard. These holidays be kind to yourself. You are doing a great job and no one can ever do it all, if you need to call in ‘your village’ use them, use all the help you can get!

Let your child have an extra long play in the park or watch that movie while you finish sending those e-mails or read a book you’ve been trying to finish. Let the kids pull the couch cushions off to build a forte while you’re in that zoom meeting or planning their next play date.

Please remember, when you feel like it's all too much, talk to a friend, have a cry to release the stress hormones, go for a walk and get a coffee and acknowledge the epic juggle you are undertaking and know you are not alone, we are all trying to navigate this juggle and give yourself grace that no one can have it all and that you are doing your best.
