Around the Primary Classes

Kindergarten

Last Thursday our Kinder students and parents walked up to our new Kindergarten.

The girls eagerly explored their new ‘home’ and were delighted to share in the celebration with their parents.

Prep

Term 3 in Prep has been filled with lots of activities and many opportunities to showcase their creativity.

Book Week allowed the students to explore their favourite book character and become them for a day. Our Prep students became authors and wrote their own picture book to share with their Year 4 buddies which they thoroughly enjoyed.

Our Arts Evening allowed students to show their loved ones their creative side. They sang, danced and completed artworks that they were very proud of.

Finally, came the Athletics Carnival where Preps were able to participate in many fun sporting events and did an incredible job.

They have all enjoyed their time in Prep this term and look forward to their final term after the holidays.

Year Two

This term has seen the Year 2students focus on Multiplication and Division in Mathematics. During this unit, students explored various strategies and concepts related to multiplication and division. They learnt how to solve simple multiplication problems by using repeated addition, arrays, skip counting equal grouping, doubling, halving and commutativity. Our focus was on developing an understanding of these strategies through problem solving word stories rather than rote learn table facts. Students were  encouraged to think critically, reason mathematically, and apply their knowledge to solve real-life problems.  Scroll through the following gallery of the Year 2 students work.
