2024 Enrolments
The College currently has a waitlist to join our community, so we are reminding families that if they wish to withdraw their child(ren) from Mount Carmel College they are required to give ten (10) school weeks notice. This does not include school holiday weeks. Families must provide the College with written notice of their decision to cancel their child's/children's enrolment.
Where notice of ten school weeks is not provided, full tuition fees may need to be paid to the College for the number of school weeks where notice was not provided. This includes withdrawal prior to the start of the school year.
For more information, please contact enrol@mountcarmel.tas.edu.au or the College Office on 6216 7900.
Summer Uniform - Term Four
When students return for Term Four they will be required to wear their Summer uniform and are therefore encouraging all students to try on their summer uniform prior to the conclusion of Term Three. If you need new items, it is advisable to visit the Uniform Shop during term time so that you are able to purchase the items you need. Orders placed via the Qkr app prior to the end of term can be collected from Student Services.
The Uniform Shop will open on the following two days only during the school holidays:
- Thursday 12 October, 1.00 - 5.00pm
- Friday 13 October, 1.00 - 5.00pm
For families wishing to do a summer uniform fitting on either of these days, an appointment time will need to be made. To book a time, click on the following link:

Sun Protection
In accordance with the recommendation from the Cancer Council of Tasmania, the College’s sun protection measures commence from the beginning of September until the end of the school year, when UV Index levels reach 3 and above.
Daily sun protection times, which are published in the Daily News, are a forecast from the Bureau of Meteorology for the time of day that UV levels are forecast to reach three or above. At these levels, sun protection is recommended for all skin types. ( www.sunsmart.com.au ).
Early Years and Primary students are strongly encouraged to wear the College bucket hat or College boater which protect the face, neck and ears when outside from the beginning of September until the end of Term 3. Students without a sun-safe hat or clothing are encouraged to remain in the shade.
From the beginning of Term 4 until the end of April, Early Years and Primary students must wear the College bucket hat or College boater when outside. Students without a sun-safe hat or clothing must remain in the shade.
Secondary students are strongly encouraged to wear the College bucket hat or College boater from the beginning of September until the end of April. Students without a sun-safe hat or clothing are encouraged to remain in the shade.
The College cap does not offer enough protection and is not recommended for general use. The College cap will be permitted for use for approved sporting activities where the use of a sun-safe hat is impractical.
Students are encouraged to bring their own sunscreen to school. The use of broad-spectrum, water-resistant SPF 30 or higher sunscreen is encouraged whenever the UV index is predicted to be above 3.
School Immunisation Program
For those Year 7 and 10 students who were unable to receive a vaccination in Term 2, a second opportunity to be immunised at school will be available on Wednesday 1 November, 2023.
