What's Happening at CHPS

Sports News

Division Athletics:

Congratulations to our squad of 62 middle and senior athletes, who represented CHPS at the District Athletics last Thursday 31st August at Bill Sewart Athletics Track, East Burwood. Students again toughed out the cold and wet elements to produce some fantastic results. We are so proud of everyone's efforts and especially the encouragement we heard of fellow teammates.

CHPS finished 5th out of 10 schools in our District: 3rd in the track events and 8th in the field events.

Unfortunately, due to the heavy rain setting in and for safety reasons, we were unable to hold the cross ball and tunnel ball events.

I would like to thank all students for their commitment to training at recess and lunch times (and Sunday afternoon with me).

I would also like to thank Rob Lewis and Jarrod Butcher for assisting with team logistics on the day and to our fantastic parent/grandparent volunteers, who gave up their time to facilitate the girls' long jump event on the day:  Vernoica Tute, Diego Palmisano, Nicole Kendall and Skye Jennings.

Could all students who borrowed a sports top for District, please return it washed to Mrs. Yorke if you're not attending Division.

The following students have progressed through to Division on Wednesday 4th October at Bill Sewart Athletics Track:

Chelsea MAH - High Jump & Shot put

Layla MDB - 80m Hurdles

Hockey

Over the last three weeks in PE, CHPS students from P-6 have been learning about Hockey.  With a focus on passing, trapping, dribbling and goal shooting, our students have increased their skills and are ready to play!  The learning unit has been thoroughly enjoyed by all, and our final lesson includes a mini competitive game to assist student learning in relation to teamwork and fair play.
