Art

We are starting our final term of 2023 with an exploration of fibre art (textiles). Students in Prep have learned how to thread their own plastic needles and create a running stitch – a really tricky skill but we were so proud of everyone for trying their very best.

Grades 1 and 2 have learned how to tie a variety of different yarns and fabrics in knots to create a wall hanging and have created animals using felt to attach to them – they look amazing!

Students in Grade 3/4 have been learning about dream catchers. They created a loom using a CD and have begun weaving fabric and wool onto their loom which they plan to decorate with beads and feathers.

Grades 5/6 will start their fibre artworks in the coming weeks as they are currently completing a Pop Art inspired painting which look fabulous!

Lastly, next week is Mrs Goodwin’s last week at Grayling before she goes on family leave. We all wish her the very best for the safe arrival of her third baby and look forward to having her back in 2025.
