Maths at St Louis de Montfort's

On Wednesday the 13th of September, Amali, Vittoria, Neve and myself were invited to join a number of local schools at Mentone Girls Grammar for a wonderful math games day called MathMinds. The day was designed to empower and challenge girls through engaging maths activities.

It was a great event that included many math games that I hadn't heard of before and I loved that I was able to learn something new.

One of the activities was called ‘Sim.’ In this game you need to try not to make a triangle with just your colour. We played in pairs and had lots of fun.

My favorite game was called ‘Crack the Code.’ In this game you had to finish a pattern to find a combination for 10 safes. In each safe there was a puzzle piece and the puzzle spelt out an equation which we had to solve using BODMAS.

I loved the whole day and would recommend it to anyone who gets the opportunity to attend in the future.
