Burrendah Primary School Students Contribute to Boorna Waaginy at Kings Park

The photos shown here were taken at the Boorna Waanginy light and sound show at Kings Park. Our Year 4 students contributed 100 of these plastic woven items to make up this beautiful display held from Oct. 6- Oct.  9.  The items depicted, nests, eggs or seed pods to fit in with the second Noongar spring season, Kambarang. 

This display was the last and most calming exhibition at the end of the spectacular walk through Fraser Ave. Thank you to all our students who stripped milk bottles and wove the plastic into small sculptures, so that our wider Perth community could enjoy this beautiful sight.

Wild At Art Competition 

 Students in Year 5, Room 6, have been hard at work creating an artwork on a threatened plant and writing a description about it and why they chose their plant. These were entered into the Wild At Art Competition. Wild At Art is Australia's biggest wildlife art competition for kids. It's an opportunity for children to unleash their artistic creativity while learning about Australia's threatened plants – and the threats facing them. A student in our class, Samara Welch, was selected as a finalist in this competition. There were around 7000 entries into the competition with 110 finalists chosen.  We are extremely proud of Samara’s achievement as a finalist.

Absences from School
