Dear Parents/Guardians and the Community,

Yesterday we farewelled our amazing group of Year 12 students. Classes are now officially finished and they are in study mode to prepare for their VCE exams which start next Tuesday. It was fantastic to join the students and their teachers for a breakfast, before congratulating them on their efforts throughout their schooling years at a whole school assembly. We would like to wish them all the best in their exams and look forward to celebrating with them at their graduation dinner after exams have concluded.

Also at yesterday’s assembly we had the privilege of announcing our 2024 College Captains. We would like to congratulate Regan Peters and Molly Gleeson who were the successful applicants for this role. Both students are thoroughly deserving and will be fantastic role models for our school. We would also like to thank all of the students that applied for the position, everyone did a great job with their applications and interviews.

We would also like to congratulate Isabell Alchin, who competed at the State Athletics Event earlier in the week. Isabell came 1st in the 100m and 200m sprints and came 4th in the 400m sprint. This is an incredible achievement after also winning the same events in 2022.  Well done Isabell!

Offsite TAFE classes will be finishing over the next two weeks. This has provided amazing opportunities for our students, which has been shown with a large number of students being nominated for a VETiS award.

SuniTAFE classes finish next Friday, 27th October, 2023, meaning students who would normally attend SuniTAFE on a Friday will now be on site at school, attending regular classes from week five.

Riverside Trade Training Centre classes finish Friday, 3rd November, 2023, meaning students who normally would attend Riverside on a Friday will also be on site at school, attending regular classes from week six.

The Melbourne Cup Public Holiday falls on Tuesday of week six. Staff will be participating in a Professional Practice Day (PPD) on the Monday of week six, 6th November, 2023. This will therefore be a student free day, meaning that students will not be on site Monday and Tuesday of week 6.

There is still plenty to look forward to as we come towards the end of the year. Year 8 and 9 camps, Year 10 and 11 practice exams, Year 9 Work Experience, our orientation days for 2024 Years 7, 11 and 12 and finally our awards night on Wednesday, 13th November, 2023.

We hope you all have a great weekend.
