Year 8 Camp

Jacob de Kunder

The Year 8's faced their fears and took Howqua by storm for their adventure camp at the start of September.

Students enjoyed a range of activities to push them to their limits, including high ropes, flying fox and the always popular survivor mud course. Other activities included channelling Robin Hood on the archery range, disc golf around the lovely Howqua River (and a few inquisitive kangaroos), working with peers on the low ropes and team building tasks. Another highlight for most was horse riding where students got some basic riding knowledge before riding a short trail along the side of the river.   At night, students took part in a high stakes trivia challenge, as well as having the chance to chill out to a movie or cheer loudly while watching the AFL finals get underway.

The weather smiled on campers for the first two days, but a storm that hit on Thursday night saw only the bravest venture out for activities on the final day, while others opted to stay by the fireplace and play cards.

As always, students represented Lilydale Heights College in such a positive way and truly displayed the College Values.  A big thank you to all the staff and students who attended the camp.
