It's been a smooth and positive start to term 4; students are transitioning into school and their classroom with confidence and are engaging in daily routines and classroom activities well. Students are showing an increased ability to independently use their session schedules, transitioning from one task to the next with success.
Term 4 is the time where we see students learn at a greater rate. As students' knowledge of routines and learning expectations increases, cognitively they have more ability to acquire new learning of academic skills.
This term we welcome two new Education Support staff members; Elizabeth Thompson has joined our primary team and Kate Doriean, who is a returning staff member will be working in Secondary, rooms 12/13. We also welcome Belinda O'Brien, who will be teaching across the school on Thursdays.
We are now in spring and our weather is getting warmer. It's important for everyone to protect themselves from the sun and those times when UV levels are forecast to reach 3 or higher.
All students must wear a hat whilst outside for learning, break times and transitioning around the school. Students are also encouraged to wear sunscreen. If you have specific requests about sun protection, please speak with your child's classroom teacher.
As you are aware, (communicated via Compass at the end of last term) we purchased and installed Closed-Circuit Television Video Cameras. We decided to use a CCTV system at our school in outside areas only. This was a decision made following discussions with School Council on responding to a number of school vandalism and break-ins over the first half of this year. The CCTV system will assist our school to prevent and manage inappropriate behaviour on school grounds and protect our school’s assets against vandalism and theft.
We have developed a CCTV Privacy Notice to outline our use of CCTV to meet our school needs whilst complying with DE requirements. Please read for further information.
