Principal's Report

Dear St A’s Community,
Its been a busy 2 weeks at St A's.
Last Friday we celebrated the grace and presence of our beautiful mums in our school community. This year’s Mother’s Day assembly was a truly special occasion that brought warmth, laughter, and love to our school community. The assembly led by our wonderful Grade 1 students was a tribute to all of our St A's mums!
The highlight of the assembly was the "My Mum is the best” video, which featured clips from students and staff, each sharing what they love most about their mothers. It was a heartwarming tribute that celebrated the unique and irreplaceable role mothers play in shaping our lives. The Preps also sang a song for thier mums, which was enjoyed by all!
The assembly concluded with a collective round of applause, as students presented handmade cupcake the their mums! Thank you to all the students, teachers, and volunteers who helped make this event so memorable. We hope all our our mums had Happy Mother’s Day!
We also gave our new Preps and their mums a special Prep Mothers Day celebration on Monday. The Preps and their mums enjoyed some time together in the classroom, followed by a special morning tea in the Kitchen Garden. Thank you to our Grade 6 helpers who were on kitchen Cafe duty helping out! We hope our mums had a lovely time with their children!
A Mother’s Day Prayer
Loving God,
We thank You for the gift of mothers, who reflect Your unconditional love, compassion, and nurturing spirit. Bless all mothers today with strength, patience, and joy. Whether they are near or far, with us in person or held dearly in memory, may they always feel the love of those whose lives they touch.
Grant them peace in their hearts, wisdom in their actions, and grace in all they do.
Through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the most holy mother of all, may they continue to be blessed and protected.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Walk to school safely!
Well done to all the students, parents and family members that walked/rode to school today!
Now in its 26th year, National Walk Safely to School Day (WSTSD) is an annual event when all Primary School children are encouraged to walk and commute safely to school. It is a Community Event seeking to promote Road Safety, Health, Public Transport and the Environment.
JPC Visit
Last week our Grade 5 students went on a high school visit to John paul College to see what Secondary School is all about. They participated in a number of activities at the College and were able to be a Year 7 student for the morning! From all reports the students had a great time and enjoyed the opportunity!
No outside Dogs on School Grounds
We kindly remind all families that dogs are not permitted on the school property at any time.
While we understand that many children love seeing pets at drop-off and pick-up, for the safety and comfort of all students, staff, and families, we ask that all dogs remain outside the school gates. This includes even the most well-behaved and friendly pets. As we are a Dogs Connect School, this is also part of keeping the school accreditation.
I trust that you will support the school with this.
Highlight of the week
This week I have been entertaining a number of the Prep students at different lunch times, completing different activities to keep them busy and their minds active. This week we have been making loom bands and making artwork using stickers! The highlight when the Preps came to participate in 'glitter art'. I have never seen so much glitter on the ground and on teh students, more than their actual work! The Preps really enjoy coming to the office for a visit and engaiging in these activities during lunch times!
Have a lovely weekend and I will see you all next week!
Show Grace, Be the joy for others and God Bless.
