Specialist Feature News - Visual Arts
Selamat Siang,
What a fun week in the Connections Centre! We have all been excited to get stuck into our new projects in the art room after making amazing costumes and props for Seussical.
The 5/6 students have begun making their Yayoi Kusama inspired mushrooms. We explored the artworks of Yayoi, and discussed how her use of pattern and sculpture can inspire our own artwork. They have begun making the bases for their mushrooms and are excited to get a bit messy with paper mache in the coming weeks.
In 3/4, we have been discussing how we can reflect on an artists work to describe their style and distinct features. The students are creating their own fruit and vegetable character artworks, inspired by Sydney based artist Mulga which they will be pairing with a background story.
The junior school have begun explore critters and creatures that live in our garden. The 1/2 Students are experimenting with 3D artworks, creating busy bee sculptures and the Foundation students are exploring pattern, creating some funky snails.
We also wish all of our District Cross Country Runners the best of luck today as they race against other schools at Ruffey Lake Park!
Have a VERY restful weekend everyone!
Terima kasih!
