Inquiry Centre

Highlight
Selamat Siang,
On Monday we had AFL womens superstars visit us to play and teach us some AFL skills such as goal kicking, marking and handballing. It was so much fun and we have so grateful to have met them!
During Literacy lesson this week, students in the Inquiry Centre have been exploring persuasive texts. They have been identifying simple persuasive devices such as high modality, repetition, rhetorical questions and emotive language and discussing about how these devices along with the opinions of the author, can be used to convince others to take on their point of view. Students enjoyed writing a persuasive piece about a special person in their lives, convincing others on why their special person has ‘Superhero’ powers.
Lots of happy faces this week in 1/2K and 1/2CS as classes settle into their new classrooms. We have been proud of how the students transitioned into the new spaces. We welcome Beth Szentesi to the Inquiry Centre, teaching alongside Cassie in 1/2CS. Welcome Beth!
Enjoy your weekend!

Reminders
- Whilst Pokemon cards are a lot of fun, we are asking that these cards only be bought to school on a Friday when Pokémon club is on.
- We are asking for students to leave small toys at home as some of the toys that have recently been brought to school are going missing which of course brings great disappointment.
- Students are growing and at times very hungry! They are encouraged to bring some fruit/vegetables to have during a fruit break mid-morning.
