Harmony Day 2025

This year, the sun shone on Harmony Day, colourful cultural outfits and dancing were abundant. All students and staff worked behind the scenes to make a beautiful and harmonious environment.

In a moving moment, Indigenous Year 12 student Erin Gallager did a proud acknowledgement of culture dressed in her traditional clothes. After spending her whole secondary schooling at Westall, it was lovely to see her being brave and courageous.

Everyone stood up to dance with enthusiasm and commitment in united energy to the West African drummer. The musicians athletically leapt around, showing off their amazing skills to everyone’s delight. What a great time we had as a school.

Mr Lanarus reminded us of what a caring place Westall SC is. Amara Hamid from The Hub spoke about what a great community it is at our school and how being involved with us is a pleasure.

A variety of talented students entertained us with songs and dance, including teachers doing a splendid Bollywood dance led by Year 12 student Maria.

The Year 7 choir sang the mountain song, with special thanks to Mr Smith and Mr Coco. A special thanks to the School Captains who put in many hours of work outside of school hours, what a fantastic and memorable day!

Instrumental Music lessons!

What can I learn?

SINGING, BASS GUITAR, DRUMS, KEYBOARDS/PIANO, CLARINET, FLUTE & SAXOPHONE.

If you are interested in having instrumental lessons as school, talk to Mr Coco and he will talk to you about any questions you may have.

The lesson time changes each week, so you don’t miss out on the same class every time. Lesson times are 35 minutes in duration.

Lesson fees are $100 for the year and an extra $100 for instrument hire.

(For Drums, guitar/bass guitar or Piano/ Keyboard instrumental hire does not apply). If you are eligible for the CSEF (if your parents/guardians) have a Health Care Card, you don’t have to pay these fees. If you are unsure, ask Dung at the front office.

Instrumental music enrolment forms may be collected from the front office or from Mr Coco or Mrs Mcalister (Instrumental Music room).

Kingston Libraries Services

We support primary and secondary students by providing access to a huge range of reading materials, online resources, and after-school activities. We have staff ready and waiting to answer questions, help find information and suggest new books to read. We are a community space for all members of the public to explore and access for free.

In addition, we run both incursions and excursions for free. We offer library literacy sessions including library information, how to search the catalogue and find books, and a tour with time to browse (if it’s an excursion). We can incorporate a theme or unit of inquiry if desired, and we can also run simple STEM activities or demonstrations.
