Class Information
The Foundation students have enjoyed participating in their new Investigation areas over the last two weeks, and it has been wonderful to see them exploring various areas each day.

Well done to Chester, Lincoln and Lilah who were our most recent award recipients. These students have demonstrated the spirit of St Mary MacKillop through their compassion, initiative and love of learning.
It has been wonderful to see the enthusiasm that the Foundation students have shown for their new readers. Students have been taking one reader home each night and are encouraged to remember the following strategies:
In the mornings when our school community reading is taking place, students can read their readers and then choose a picture story book to read with an adult or read independently.
Today all Foundation students were given an envelope which is in their reader bags for our school nurse program. This is a free resource provided to families which is extremely beneficial because it assists with early identification of potential health and development concerns which may impact students' education. This screening offers hearing, vision, speech, dental and motor skills, advice, as well as offering referrals to other health and support services. Can you please complete these forms and return them to school by Monday the 19th of May. The school nurse will begin her visits on Tuesday the 27th of May.
This week, we commenced weekly awards. Each Monday afternoon, one student from each class will receive an award. This term, awards are given to students displaying the qualities of Mary McKillop including a love for learning, trying their best and persisting with challenges. Award winners will be acknowledged at the next assembly on the slide show. Congratulations to the award winners for weeks 3 and 4:
