9-12 Loddon Mallee Boys Soccer
Our Years 9-10 boys soccer team travelled to Bendigo to compete in the Loddon Mallee Soccer tournament on 19th May.
The boys won their first game 3-0 against Chaffey College, drew their second game 1-1 against Bendigo South East College and scored 9-0 against MacKillop College to win the day due to goal difference.
Congratulations and good luck to the boys who have now qualified for the State Championships in September.
Senior Boys Football
Recently, the Senior Boys football team travelled to Rochester to compete for a spot at the Loddon Mallee Region Football Carnival. Despite a few late outs due to illness, hopes were high and the boys were expecting big things.
Up against SMOTA first up, the boys were a bit slow getting going and despite a stronger second half, they couldn't overcome the first half lead. Next up they faced Echuca College and they proved too strong across the board, running out comfortable winners. Their last game for the day was against Rochester. After breaking even in the first half kicking against the wind, they piled on the goals in the second half to record their second win for the day.
There was a fairly even contribution from all players, but a notable mention to Braith N for stepping up and playing in the ruck for the majority of the day.

9-10 Campaspe Boys Football
On Tuesday 3rd June, the Years 9 and 10 boys competed in the Campaspe Years 9/10 boys football competition in Rochester. In cold conditions, the boys competed well and eventually won 3 of their 4 games.
The first game saw the team have a good win against Echuca College. Mitch W played a solid game, as did Max S. The second game was close and with SMOTA charging home with the breeze, we just held on. Sam B played well in this game, as well as Antony D. In the third game we were well beaten by a very good St Joseph's team. The last game was a see-sawing battle, with Rochester and St Augustine's going goal for goal. The move of Cyrhil C forward swayed the game in our favour and we ran out winners by two goals. Cooper W and Archer B were good contributors in the win.
Overall, it was a great day, the games were played in good spirit and the boys enjoyed the challenge. Thank you to Pete F for umpiring throughout the day.

Years 5/6 Netball
On Friday 30th May, five teams of mixed netballers set out to Echuca to compete in the Campaspe Years 5/6 netball tournament. The kids enjoyed the day and played against other teams in the district. Our Year 6 reserved mixed team won all their games on the day and came out champions of their division, sporting a new medal. The Year 6 Champs girls made the semi final where they went down by two against a dominant St Marys team. Good work to all the teams that participated throughout the day.
Years 5/6 Soccer
One girls and two boys soccer teams recently made the journey to Moama to compete against primary schools in the Campaspe district Years 5/6 soccer tournament.
The students absolutely loved their day and everyone participated sensationally, showing great sportsmanship. No teams came away with the win, but everyone enjoyed their day and represented St Aug's well.
Years 5/6 Winter Sports
On Tuesday 17th June, our Years 5 and 6 students braved the fog and the chill to head to either the Northern Oval or Kyabram P-12 College to spend the day participating in one of five sports they had previously selected. Over half of our 5/6s smashed out some netball at Northern Oval, while the rest were spread fairly evenly between basketball, AFL 9s, euroball and soccer. The sun stayed out and the courts/grass dried up and an awesome day was had by all. Students showed great participation levels and respect for the older students and teachers who were helping to facilitate the day.
3/4 Winter Sports
On a very chilly day on the 12th June, our Years 3 and 4s and the amazing band of staff members supporting them, headed to Kyabram P-12 College to engage in various minor games for the day. The day was all about participation and inclusion. Our students handled themselves with the best sportsmanship, participation and respect we could ask for. Well done to everyone involved.
