Library lessons

Over the past few weeks, we have been looking at information texts and how to find them and use them in the Library. While many of our students think 'Google' is all you need, it is imperative that our young people can discern and seek information from reliable sources for themselves. With the 'algorithms' of social media and online applications always biased and having their own agenda, we all need to know how to spot misinformation or opinion. As students’ progress through school these research skills are more and more important.

Winter Reading

The weather has turned and the idea of snuggling up with a good book on cold rainy days has become very appealing. We have many new interesting titles ready to borrow and our Primary students will be able to borrow extra books to take home over the school holidays. For Secondary students, the library is open every morning from 8.30 and after school if they wish to browse and borrow.

Children’s Book Week 2025

This year, Book Week falls in Week 5 of Term 3. Our dress up day/parade will be on Friday 22nd August and an Operoo with more information will be sent closer to the date. The theme for this year is BOOK AN ADVENTURE and many of our students are already excitedly planning their costumes. As week 5 will be on us in no time, you might like to start thinking about what adventure character you could possibly dress up as for our celebrations. We can’t wait!
