Principal Update: Sustaining Momentum into the Final Weeks of Term
As we approach the final weeks of Term 2, it's important that all students continue to attend school regularly and stay engaged in their learning. While we understand winter can bring seasonal illness, sustaining healthy routines—such as getting enough sleep, staying active, and eating well—can make a real difference, particularly during assessment periods. This is especially important for our Year 10 students, who will soon participate in a two-day exam block.
Learning doesn’t stop at assessment. Our teachers will continue introducing new content, reviewing work, and providing valuable feedback all the way to the final day of term. Everyday counts.
Lunch Box Sessions: Industry Inspiration
Thank you to our Guidance Officers, Kate Niland and Helen Martschinke, for leading our Lunch Box Sessions. These sessions provide students with the opportunity to hear directly from industry professionals about career pathways, real-world insights, and the skills required in their fields.
Last fortnight’s guest speaker, a former international airline pilot, offered a powerful and technical insight into aviation and the demands of commercial flight training. The session sparked great questions from students and was a terrific example of learning beyond the classroom.
Our biggest Lunch Box event yet will take place next Thursday during second break (1:00pm in I Block), featuring five different guest speakers across a range of industries. All students are welcome!
Uniform Advisory Committee: Ongoing Consultation
Thank you to parents, students, and staff who participated in the first meeting of our Uniform Advisory Committee. It was a productive session with thoughtful discussion and suggestions. This feedback will be formally presented at the next P&C Meeting.
To ensure we hear from as many parents as possible, we will offer two consultation options:
- A morning face-to-face session
- An evening Teams meeting, for families with busy schedules
In addition, Ms Kellie Baumgart will continue student consultations in Term 3 to broaden input. While we are not proposing major changes to the uniform policy, we are undertaking this periodic review to ensure our policy remains inclusive, practical, and reflective of our community. Further dates will be communicated early next term.
