Hi everyone, we hope you are well and staying warm during this cold winter season.
At St Fidelis, we are proud to participate in The Resilience Project, which teaches explicit emotional literacy and positive emotions, specifically Gratitude, Empathy, and Mindfulness (GEM). This supports us in building resilience and happiness. As we continue to embed our Resilience Project Learning, we engage in professional learning opportunities to support our staff in facilitating the Resilience Project most effectively. Earlier this Term we had the pleasure of welcoming Sam and Lucy from the Resilience Project to facilitate a Staff professional learning opportunity, where we explored how we can embed TRP into our everyday practices.
An outcome of this meeting was the introduction of GEM Chats, which will enable us to check in with children daily. You may have already noticed them in our Friday morning assemblies.
Below is a GEM Chat that you can ask your child or children; you may be surprised at what they share!
A reminder to those enrolled in GATEWAYS: this event will take place on June 23rd and 24th. This term's GATEWAYS is focused on Language and Literature. Children are required to bring stationery and their lunch for recess on these days. Once the day is complete, they return to class to be dismissed at the end of the day.
Here is some further information about GATEWAYS:
Children who have been formally or informally identified as gifted and talented, or highly able, are able to access a wide range of programs. At St Fidelis, we host GATEWAYS termly to students from St Fidelis and schools around the community. Nominations are sent to parents who’s children have excelled in the focus area.
Thank you and have a wonderful break.
