As we approach the end of term, here are some enrichment opportunities and reminders for families of students who enjoy academic challenges and deeper thinking.

 

ICAS Competitions – For Students Working Above Level

Families who would like their child to participate in the ICAS Competitions are reminded that registrations are still open. These optional, online assessments in English, Science, Spelling, and Mathematics are ideal for students who are working above year level and enjoy academic challenge, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

Maths Talent Quest – Submissions Due July 4

Students who are participating in the Maths Talent Quest are reminded that all projects must be finalised and submitted by Friday 4 July - the last day of Term Two.

 

Science Talent Search – New Deadline: July 21

For students already entered in the Science Talent Search, the final submission date is now Monday 21 July (the first day of Term Three), following a schedule update from the organising committee.

Scienceworks – Winter School Holidays

Scienceworks is offering a variety of hands-on activities and shows designed to spark curiosity and promote collaborative learning:

  • Build 'Em Up!: A live science show exploring the physics of engineering, encouraging teamwork and problem-solving.

  • Tinkertown: An interactive exhibition where children can engage in creative construction, fostering respect for shared spaces and ideas.

  • Trial and Error Trolley: Mobile stations around the museum that invite experimentation and learning from mistakes in a safe environment.
