Library Makeover
I’m excited to announce that the library is getting a makeover!
Our current shelves are over 25 years old and display our collection of books the traditional method of ‘spines facing forward’. Rows and rows of spines can be unappealing to children and make it difficult for them to browse and select books. The library has purchased some new shelving components which will clip on to our existing shelving frames; our picture book collection will now be housed in browser bins which allow the books to be displayed with the front covers facing forward and there will also be some new display shelves for our non-fiction collection.
All existing shelf signage will be replaced allowing students to navigate the library space independently and we also have some new shelves to display our new fiction titles. Some walls will get a fresh coat of paint and there will also be some new seating!
To undertake this makeover, the library will be closed to all classes during Weeks One and Two of Term Three.
Students with library bags may borrow books during the last week of term and keep them at home during the holidays. Please return these books to your classroom teacher upon returning to school during Week One.
Helpers Wanted
The library is now seeking parent helpers to help remove books from our shelves before the installation of the new shelving can begin, there will also be some light cleaning and the removal of displays from around the library space. If you are able help any day between 21st - 31st July, please contact Ms Julie via Compass or email. Helpers must have a current Working with Children Check.

Ms Julie
