Year Five

Year Five Leadership Day – Online Leaders

Our second Year Five Leadership Day focused on the powerful message that we are all responsible for leading positive digital communities. Throughout the day, students engaged in thoughtful activities that helped them explore what it means to be a principled and reflective online leader. The morning expectations set a meaningful tone, as students revisited their leadership journey and created individual goals for the day. In breakout workshops, they examined their digital identities, reflected on their behaviour online, and co-constructed a shared understanding of digital rights and responsibilities. These sessions highlighted the importance of understanding ourselves and others to shape healthy online relationships and build empathy within our digital communities.

Mrs Barletta’s keynote, “Digital Footprint”, brought real-life online issues to the forefront, helping students reflect on how poor digital choices can affect others and what leadership looks like in those moments. The interactive discussions and “What Would You Do?” scenarios empowered students to think critically and act with integrity. In our closing session, students revisited their goals, shared growth moments. This collective reflection reinforced the key concepts of connection with responsibility and allowed students to commit to specific actions moving forward. By the end of the day, it was clear that our learners were not only more aware of their digital footprints but also inspired to lead online with compassion, cooperation, and care.
