Volunteers Needed for Bunnings BBQ
We’re excited to be holding our Bunnings BBQ fundraiser on Saturday, 28th June, and we need your help to make it a success!
This is a fantastic opportunity to raise funds for our kindergarten, while connecting with our community – and we can’t do it without volunteers.
We’re looking for parents and carers to help out on the day with tasks such as cooking, serving, and managing the stall. Whether you can spare an hour or a few, every bit helps!
To volunteer, please add your name to a timeslot that suits you on the roster displayed in the foyer of the kindergarten.
Works to Vermont Oval Pavilion
As you will read on the Principals Page of the Newsletter your will see the below message: "The Whitehorse City Council have contacted the school to let us know of upcoming works to the pavilion at the Vermont Oval. The demolition and redevelopment of the pavilion will commence in the next few weeks, and is expected to take up to 12 months to complete. As a result of the works, there will be reduced parking spaces around the oval (around 20 less spaces) and access to the pavilion side of the oval will be limited."
If you use the Vermont Reserve to park and enter the Kinder you will need to use the South-East side of the oval, walking around past the cricket nets as access around the pavilion will be blocked off.
Mid-Year Summative Assessments / Developmental Checklists
At the mid-point in the year the teachers will provide to all parents a summative assessment of how your child is progressing within the Kinder Program and developmentally.
Our Bachelor trained teachers are highly experienced and knowledgeable in child development. It is important to understand that every child develops at their own pace, however there are general guides on what we should expect at each age range. So, the teachers will combine both their knowledge of child development and of your unique child, that they have now built strong connections with to establish how they are progressing, and set goals for the second half of the year.
Once you have read your child’s Mid-Year Summative Assessment, if there is anything you would like further information on please do not hesitate to make a time to chat with your child’s teacher.
