Principal's Message

Dear Families,

As we come to the end of a lively and eventful month, I want to take a moment to reflect on some of the highlights and achievements our school community has enjoyed together.

We began the month with the energetic STOMP Dance incursion, which had students across all year levels engaged and excited as they explored rhythm and movement. It was fantastic to see their confidence grow as they mastered new dance routines. Our students also represented the school with great pride in Cross-Country and Athletics competitions at both District and Division levels. Congratulations especially to our Senior Boys Basketball team who finished in third place—a fantastic result! We were also fortunate to have visitors from the St Kilda Football Club AFL and AFLW teams share their experiences with our students, reinforcing the importance of persistence, teamwork and healthy habits—values that align closely with our school values.

The community spirit was truly alive at our Family Bingo Night, which was very well attended and filled with laughter and friendly competition—many thanks to Mrs Jones and our wonderful parent volunteers, Tiff, Kate, Mel, and Erin, who made the event such a success. Shortly after, we welcomed over 80 parents to our Open Classrooms afternoon, an event inspired by your feedback, where students proudly shared their learning and daily routines—a rewarding experience for all involved. We look forward to hosting more opportunities like this in the future. To cap off the month, today’s Talent Show was a fantastic celebration of our students’ creativity and courage, showcasing their unique talents and vibrant school spirit.

Behind the scenes, our teachers have been working hard preparing Semester Reports, which have been published today. These reports highlight your child’s progress and achievements, and we encourage you to review them together. Please feel free to contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions or wish to discuss their learning.

We have also welcomed new members to our front office team recently. Thank you for your patience and warm welcome during this transition—your kindness has made a real difference in helping them settle in.

Finally, I’d like to share some important news. Mrs Anthea Argent, a valued member of our teaching and leadership teams, will be leaving us at the end of this term. Anthea has been appointed as an Inclusion Outreach Coach with the Department of Education, where she will support teachers and leadership teams across multiple schools. While we are sad to say goodbye, we are immensely grateful for her dedication and the positive impact she has made here. We are currently undergoing a merit and equity recruitment process for a new teacher for 34A and are committed to ensuring a smooth transition for our students.

Thank you all for your continued support throughout this term. We look forward to another exciting and productive term.

Kind regards,

Stephania Johnson-Turner
