Plushie Creation – "Tequila" the Golden Retriever
"For Visual Design class, I to worked on a creative project to design and construct a plush toy. I chose to create a soft sculpture in the form of a golden retriever, whom I named Tequila.
These projects goals were to apply principles of design, spatial planning, and textile construction, while also allowing me to develop my creative and technical skills in a hands-on, imaginative way.
Tequila is based off a game character I personally enjoy called Arknights.
One of the most enjoyable aspects of the project was adding Tequila’s facial features. Crafting his expressive eyes, tongue, and floppy ears gave the plushie a sense of individuality.
It was during this phase that the project transitioned from a technical exercise to an emotionally resonant character creation.
Throughout the entire process, I developed a greater appreciation for the detailed craftsmanship required in textile design and plush construction. I not only improved my skills in sketching, pattern-making, and sewing, but also strengthened my ability to adapt and problem-solve creatively under time and resource constraints.
This project taught me the stages of design, perseverance through trial and error, and the impact a thoughtful design can have."

Mini Movie Creation
"For this project, our instructions were to create a mini movie following one of the 3 title choices. We chose the title ‘In the Shadows’ with our film following a thrilling story of a murder mystery. The process of creating this plot was far more complicated than we had anticipated, and we ended up going through 2 different ideas before coming up with this one. We began by filming a scene with all the photography club members vlogging out of boredom, with Hannah foreshadowing the fate of the unfortunate students. There were many moments where we broke character mid-filming, creating so many funny moments and plenty bloopers. I thoroughly enjoyed the interview scenes and watching Ms. Shanza’s cameos. All-in-all, this project was very difficult but even more fun."
Aavyah Prasad, Year 9
"In year 9 media we have been making movies! We were told to choose out of three prompts, from the shadows, victory together, and Pogo goes on an adventure. Our group, as a team chose from the shadows. We decided to make our story about a demon who came after these 5 girls at a sleepover. We all had so much fun acting and filming, and we grew our acting and collaborative skills."
Lily James, Year 9
We were given a prompt to choose from. Miss Shanza informed us that we would be making films! Our group decided we wanted to us film a documentary that educated students to stay away from illegal substances and to continue growing and thriving in live. We had a lot of fun collaborating and filming with each other.
