Senior School Report

Senior School Activities
The Year 10 Cohort have been busy throughout the term and especially during the last four weeks of Term Two.
Our Year10 students currently on their Work Experience and the feedback thus far is very positive.
Recently our Year10 students completed their White Card. They participated in a whole day incursion, which resulted in all students successfully completing the course.
“I enjoyed how interactive and engaging the day was. I felt comfortable asking questions and answering them as well. I felt engaged and very willing to learn as it connected with my interest and regarding my future”.
Jake Cassell , Year 10
"I thought the White card was good, it got us up and about the school picking up hazards and got us exploring our options for when we leave school”.
Declan Pulo, Year 10
A group of our Year10 Science students made their way to the Coca-Cola Europacific Partners site in Moorabbin.
They were given the opportunity to step beyond the classroom and experience what it is like to solve real world problems in partnership with a global economy.
“The tour of the entire factory was amazing. We got to look at different components and how drinks are produced”. Adam Du, Year 10
On Monday 23 June and Tuesday 24 June, the Year 10 cohort sat their English and Math exams.
The formal setting and following expected protocols are in readiness for VCE exams in the coming years so that our students are well prepared for what is expected of them in VCE.
We wish all our students a restful two-week break following the longest and coldest term of the year. We look forward to hearing about their Work Experience upon returning in Term Three.

"This term, we’ve been working on a project to turn an unused part of the school into a welcoming outdoor space. We started by clearing the area and building planter boxes from recycled wood that will be planted out with kitchen herbs and salad veggies. We also have plans for a fruit orchid, a few grape vines and a sensory garden space.
We also installed a whiteboard to help with planning and organising our work teams and tasks. Recent plantings include native shrubs with the assistance of Knox Environment Society president Richard Faragher who donated 50 native plants, which we planted right away.
Next, we’re planning to add more native plants to attract birds and build a small fireplace for cooking and hanging out. We are proud of the progress and excited about what’s still to come!
A special thanks to our generous donors Raphael Harvey for citrus trees and grape vines, Mr Goss for the sleepers, Suzanne Tate for flower seeds and Knox Environment Society president Richard Faragher for the 50 native tube stocks. Yates will also be sponsoring us with soil enhances and fertilisers. We have also recently won a cash grant from through the 2024 "

As Term 2 comes to a close, our Year 12 VCE students have plenty to be proud of.
With dedication, teamwork, and resilience, they have successfully completed Unit 3 of their studies—marking a significant step in their final year of school.
One of the highlights this term was the English oral presentations. Students tackled a diverse range of thought-provoking topics with clarity, creativity, and confidence. Their hard work and preparation truly paid off, with staff and peers alike impressed by the quality of their delivery and insights.
Adding a little fun to the mix, our much-anticipated ‘Hot Food Lunch’ was a big hit! It brought the cohort together for a well-earned break and some tasty treats, giving everyone a moment to relax and enjoy each other's company before the term's final stretch.
A major milestone was also reached as students sat the General Achievement Test (GAT). This important assessment is a key part of the VCE process, and our students approached it with focus and determination. It was encouraging to see their efforts and preparation reflected in how seriously they took the day.
Congratulations to our Year 12 students on everything they’ve achieved so far. With Unit 4 now underway, the final leg of the VCE journey begins.
We’re incredibly proud of their progress and look forward to supporting them every step of the way.
