Assistant Principal Report

Celebrating Student Achievement, Mid-Year Milestones
As we reach the midpoint of the academic year, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to our Year 10, 11, and 12 students for their commitment and resilience in completing their mid-year exams.
These assessments mark an important milestone in the academic journey and reflect the dedication our students continue to show toward their learning goals.
A special commendation is also due to our students who undertook the General Achievement Test (GAT) this term.
The GAT plays a vital role in supporting fair and accurate assessment across the VCE, and we are incredibly proud of the mature and focused way our students approached this task.
In the coming days, students will also receive their Semester 1 reports. These reports provide valuable feedback on their progress and achievements so far this year. I encourage students and families to review the reports carefully, celebrate successes, and identify areas to focus on for the remainder of the year.
This time of year is an excellent opportunity for reflection and goal setting. I encourage all students to seek support where needed and continue striving for excellence in both their academic and personal development.
To our dedicated staff, thank you for your ongoing support and encouragement.
To our families and carers, your partnership remains essential to each student’s success.
Empowering Students Through RAGE: RAGE (Renavigating Anger & Guilty Emotions) and Peer Powers Programs
At Scoresby Secondary College, we are committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where every student can thrive.
Recently, a group of students successfully completed the RAGE program, designed to help them develop effective strategies for managing emotions and building resilience.
The skills gained through RAGE are already making a positive impact on their school experience and personal growth.
Currently, some students are participating in the Peer Powers program, which provides structured support to build positive relationships, teamwork, and communication skills. Students involved have expressed how much they are enjoying the program and the opportunity to develop confidence and social skills in a safe and encouraging setting.
We are proud of the progress our students are making through these programs and look forward to continuing to provide pathways that nurture confidence, self-awareness, and a strong sense of community.
Thank you to the staff who facilitate these important programs and to our students for their enthusiasm and commitment.
Please note: I will be taking well-deserved long service leave during Term 3.
I will be travelling through Europe with my daughter, embracing this special time to explore and experience new cultures.
In addition to my travels, I will also be volunteering at a primary school in Kenya, where I will use my skills to support to the school community.
I wish you all a safe, rewarding, and rejuvenating break.
