Maths

In maths, we have just completed our unit on data and have begun working on our mental maths strategies to solve problems involving multiplication.

The students have enjoyed working in small groups and doing vertical learning. This is where the students work through mathematical problems in small groups of three and use whiteboards to record their thinking. They have one whiteboard marker between them and need to use their mathematical strategies and problem-solving skills to find more than one answer to a problem.

Kinnect to Dance

It has been lovely to see the students getting involved in Kinnect to Dance! I am looking forward to seeing what other dances they learn as the term unfolds.

Inquiry

We have started a unit on the levels of government. This week the students learnt about different types of governments and how they run. They had an opportunity to propose a new law and role-played what it would be like to live in a country that is not a democracy.

Prep Buddy Time

The grade 6's have taken the responsibility of having a prep buddy very seriously. They enjoyed getting to spend eating time with them to get to know them better.
