1/2 TV
Literacy
Over the last two weeks, we have been reading the book, ‘Today we have no plans.’ The students have been involved in many Reading, Writing and Speaking and Listening activities in relation to the text. Here are some photos of the students sharing what activities they do on different days of the week. They also enjoyed sharing which activities they like to do on days that they have, ‘No plans’.
Maths
Our first Maths Unit was about collecting and collating data. Here are some photos of the students creating a pictograph of data collected, about the class fruit and vegetables that they had in their lunchboxes.
This week we have been practising counting in all different ways. When we count large collections of objects, we found that it makes it much simpler if we place the objects into groups, then they are easier to count - especially if we group and count be 5s or 10s.
Respect
We have continued learning about many different ways we can show respect - to ourselves, to others and to our school. By showing respect in these ways we are able to earn HERO Awards for our HERO chart. Once we fill our HERO chart, we get to proudly bring it home and add a special HERO disc to the wall in the Red Centre, which earns a point for our house team. We have a number of 12TV students who are getting very close to filling their first chart!
We are also building our relationships as we get to know each other more and enjoying time together in the playground.
Kinnect to Dance
We have been having loads of fun learning a new dance each week with Kyle, who is a wonderful dance instructor. We are doing some extra practise in class and we're really looking forward to the dance spectacular at the end of term!!
Upcoming special event
On Tuesday March 5th, Grade 1/2 TV will be presenting at our whole school assembly, starting at 2.30pm. Please mark this in your diary - we would love to see as many family there are possible!
