INTERMEDIATE SPORT

Our first SSV Inter School Sport for the year the was our Intermediate Year 9 and 10's.  Volleyball forms a huge part of our college culture; any time you walk around the school you will pass multiple games of volleyball. Going into the day we were optimistic our teams would be extremely competitive and challenge for the title. Due to the popularity of volleyball, we entered 2 boys and 2 girl's teams. As predicted it was a hugely successful day with both our boys' volleyball team remaining unbeaten all day and progress to the division stage. Our girls' teams played their hearts out and narrowly missed out on progressing.

We also had our boys cricket team in action at Marriott Waters Reserve. The team was hugely motivated winning their competition and will progress to the region stage. Our mixed tennis teams had a great day out, however unfortunately finished 2nd. Thank you to Apoorva, Vicky, Kate Wilson and Mitch for taking the teams out.

SENIOR SPORT

The senior boys cricket team progressed through the division stage with no other schools entered in the competition. They came up against some tough opposition at the region stage and despite their best efforts just came up short. The Senior Volleyball teams represented the college and its values excellently, unfortunately missing out by 1 point. The senior boy's tennis team had an enjoyable day out but will not progress to the next stage facing some experienced players. Although no teams progressed, all our teams were competitive and represented themselves and the college excellent, making us very proud.

YEAR 8 SPORT

Our Year 8 students were in action on the 27th of February. Again, with the popularity of volleyball we entered 4 teams, with our Girls A team progressing to division. We also had our tennis teams travel to Casey Tennis Center to compete against the local schools.  Our Year 8 girls progressed to division showing grit and determination throughout the day. The boys cricket team put in an outstanding effort again only losing by 1 point all day.

CESC Swim Trials

On Friday we completed our CESC Swim trials to select our swimmers to represent CESC at the division swimming carnival on March 6th. Students were fantastic as always. One of the greatest pleasures at Head of Sport is to see how our students conduct themselves outside of the college. It was so pleasing to see so much support and encouragement for one another. We look forward to updating you on how we went at the division stage.
