I would like to introduce myself as your child’s Assistant Principal. My name is Hannah Fisher and I have been a member of the Cranbourne East Community for 3 years where I have been a Year Level Leader of Year 10 and later years teacher.
Prior to my time at CESC I worked in leadership in schools, Catholic and Government sector and TAFE. I am passionate about student wellbeing and providing opportunities for all students to feel happy and safe and to enjoy the wonderful range of opportunities provided for them at CESC.
I enjoy working with staff and students to help each member of our community to become the best versions of themselves. I look forward to working with the students, teachers, and families of year 7 and 8 students this year as we navigate the first couple of years of their Secondary School journey together.

Start of School for Year 7 and 8
Dear Families,
We are thrilled to share with you the incredible start to the school year that our Year 7 and 8 students have had. With enthusiasm and energy, they have embraced the opportunities and experiences offered to them, setting a positive tone for the academic year ahead.
One of the highlights of the beginning of the school year for our Year 7 students was the engaging and insightful incursion by the Reach Foundation.
This session focused on fostering respect and inclusiveness among our students, empowering them to build strong and supportive relationships within the school community. It was heartwarming to see our Year 7 students actively participating and absorbing the valuable lessons shared during this session.
Additionally, both Year 7 and 8 students have been allocated into their respective houses, marking the beginning of their journey within our school's vibrant house system. House assemblies provided students with the opportunity to connect with their peers and teachers, fostering a sense of belonging and camaraderie from the outset. Students also learnt their respective house chants.
To further enhance the sense of community and engagement, lunchtime activities have been organized, providing students with enjoyable opportunities to interact outside of the classroom environment.
As educators, witnessing the positive attitudes and eagerness of our Year 7 and 8 students fills us with pride and excitement for the year ahead. Together, we look forward to a year filled with growth, learning, and memorable experiences for our Year 7 and 8 students.
Kind Regards,
Year 7 & 8 Leadership Team
Welcome Week
As part of the transition process, our Year 7 students participated in Welcome Week. This program included sessions on understanding compass, getting to know your classmates, connecting with teachers, learning how to use a combination lock as well as study skills and habits. Starting with a year level assembly, students were then allocated to their form groups, introduced to teachers and taken to Green Building to begin their year at CESC. We look forward to seeing the continued development and growth of our Year 7 cohort after starting off strong in 2024.
Year 7 Welcome BBQ
Part of fostering community engagement at CESC is getting together with our families, students, and staff at our annual Year 7 Welcome BBQ. We were fortunate to have incredible weather on the night which encouraged the use of our Agora as well as the games, activities and music provided by our Connectedness & Engagement team. Events like these give our community a chance to connect, chat and ask questions in an informal setting whilst enjoying a BBQ cooked by our Year 7 teaching team. Students also get the chance to show off their locker, classrooms and introduce families to their teachers to develop relationships and connection. Thank you to our families that joined us on the night. We look forward to continuing to provide events throughout the year to get together.
Year Level Captains
Dear Families,
In Year 8 we have been going through the process of picking our Year Level Captains for 2024. This started with our students stepping up and self-nominating to be considered for the role this year. In total, we have had nine of our students put themselves forward and create and present a speech as to why we should vote for them. These students’ speeches were recorded and edited into a video which has been shown in many of our classes this week. Our 8s then voted on their top three choices and we will announce the successful candidates in our Assemblies next week.
The candidates for Year Level Captains are: Masooma, Sasha, Heli, Avneet, Samarth, Deeksha, Pranav, Krishiv and Sayed. We are proud of all of our candidates for stepping forward for an opportunity for leadership. Our captains will need to proudly demonstrate our school values of Respect, Growth, Achievement & Responsibility, and we feel all of our candidates could represent that.
Find below a picture of each of our candidates – good luck to them all!
Chinese New Year Celebrations
As a college community, students and staff engaged in celebrating the beginning of the Chinese New Year with great excitement and enthusiasm, Commemorating the Year of the Dragon.
Our lunchtime celebration was a delightful blend of cultural immersion, festive feasting, and joyful camaraderie with costumes, a photo booth, and cultural activities for students provided by our LOTE team. Whilst staff enjoyed a Chinese cuisine provided by the Connectedness and Engagement Team, we were all able to enjoy a small piece of Asian culture and connect with our community.
CESC Clubs
As we kick off the new academic year, we are thrilled to introduce students to the vibrant and diverse world of student clubs at CESC. Our Clubs Launch allowed students and staff to engage in academic, social and hobby based lunchtime clubs and activities that are on offer in 2024. Students can help navigate the direction of some clubs and ask questions of staff facilitating whilst discovering or exploring their passions, interests, and communities that will enrich their college experience.
Lunchtime Activities
Last week students gathered in the Agora for lunchtime activities for Senior and Middle school lunch. Students participated in a game of tug of war where they versed each other in different friend groups, girl vs boys.
A lot of students participated and were highly engaged in the activity, students used a lot of teamwork and built unity by working together in trying to win each game.
Stand-Out Basketball Program
The students enjoyed the workshop and the basketball activity followed along with pizza to celebrate.
