Message from the Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to the 2024 school year. The start to the term has been very positive and we have welcomed 24 new students to our school - 18 being our Kindergarten class of 2024. 

We look forward to a wonderful year of learning and laughing together.

This year we have six classrooms - Kindergarten, Year 1, Year 2, Year 3/4, Year 5 and Year 6. All students have settled and are looking forward to a fantastic year. You may have noticed the new additions to our school uniform - culottes and tailored shirt for the girls and the school logo added to the pocket of the boys' shirt. Everyone looks very smart and I congratulate every child for wearing black school shoes on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Your assistance in this area is greatly appreciated. Wearing our uniform with pride helps to strengthen the positive culture within our school. All uniform items including socks are available from the school.

Congratulations to our school leaders for 2024 - Farrer Burke, Molly Gallagher, Nulla Gillon and Thomas Taber. Thechildren were presented with their badges at the Beginning of the Year Mass last Thursday, accompanied by a blessing from Fr Curran. The staff look forward to working with our leaders throughout the year, to improve the learning journey of all our students. 

It is wonderful to welcome staff member Jane Martin back to work this year. Jane is our groundsperson and was absent due to illness for much of Term 4. We wish Jane all the best for her future health and wellbeing.

Our calendar for the year is quickly filling. Upcoming dates are listed on our School Calendar attached to the newsletter. Our first P&F Meeting for the year will be held on Tuesday February 13 commencing at 5.30 at the Manilla Bowling Club. We look forward to seeing as many parents as possible attend to get the ball rolling for 2024. The AGM will be held on Tuesday March 12 where all Executive positions will be declared vacant and the committee for 2024 will be elected.

Newsletters will be distributed Friday of even weeks throughout the Term. Due to the swimming carnival, the first newsletter was delayed. All correspondence will be issued via the COMPASS App, unless otherwise advised.
