Year 7

First Week of Secondary School

Congratulations to our Year 7 students on an amazing start to secondary school. Students participated in Keys to Success activities designed to help them understand the college’s CORE values and motto: 'Belong, Believe, Become'. Students also learnt about our School Wide Positive Behaviour approach and how we use Teams and OneNote for learning.

Student reflection from Adam B (Year 7) below!

Hey there! I wanted to share my experience in my first few weeks at Beaumaris Secondary School. It's been such a great experience so far, and I feel like I'm really thriving in this new environment.

The best thing about my school is the sense of community - everyone is friendly and helpful. I was a little nervous at first, but my classmates and teachers have been amazing at making me feel welcome and supporting me along the way.

The school itself is fantastic too. We have access to all sorts of different ways of learning, which has been really helpful in preparing us for the future. And even though the facilities can be a bit overwhelming at times, it's easy to find your way around with the help of your classmates and teachers.

I'm looking forward to being a part of such a great school community. I'm excited to see what opportunities the future holds!

Year 7 Maths

Our Year 7 students have commenced their first topic on data representations. Last week they engaged in a hands-on activity that not only sharpened their mathematical skills but also fostered teamwork and camaraderie. In this interactive session, students worked collaboratively in groups to measure distances, record shooting accuracy and construct frequency tables to represent their data. This not only made the learning experience dynamic but also provided a fun way for them to get to know each other.
